Where is the surname "Nesses" from?

Hello:
Because surnames have changed spellings so many times over the years it is difficult to pinpoint where "Nesses" originated. The information I found states there were Nesses in Russia, Germany and France.
I did a Family Genology Project which took me over a year to compile but I managed to track my family all the way back to the mid 1600's. The best place to get info is www.ancestry.com affiliated with the Church of Latter Day Saints. They have gobs of info about family trees, ancestors and lineage.
