Haven't actually seen it, but sleepwalking and similar events are well documented (if uncommon) side effects of this medication.

Don't take those pills! My roommate was prescribed them. She would talk on the phone and tell people things she wouldn't normally say when she was on them and not remember in the morning. She would also sometimes eat nonstop and not remember. A few times she took a bath and didn't remember it. That could be dangerous. The scariest thing is it's hard for other people to tell you aren't right so they won't know to stop you.
If you do take them, make sure you are in bed laying down when you take them. Plan on reading a book or something just don't get up to do anything.

I was told I participated in conversations after being awakened during the night, but I wouldn't remember the conversation(s) the next day.
I also had memory problems when I was taking it, but I haven't taken it for several months, perhaps for over a year.
It seems there was a story on ABC World News Tonight about this, but I suppose it could have been on another network's evening newscast.

Yes, there have been documented cases of people doing this. My mother took Ambien for a while and experienced some strange blackouts, no sleepwalking though.

I heard about a woman taking those pills and getting up in the night and driving her car recklessly. When the cops finnaly stoped her she got out of the car, walked into the center of a four-way intersection, and pissed in the street. I also heard about this man who was in a hospital who took the pills, and in the middle of the night he walked out of his room and pissed in the middle of the hallway. neither of them remembered what they had done in the morning.

I don't have personal experience with it but it is a leading side-effect of the product.
