HDTV is High Definition TV, LCD is Liquid Crystal Display. LCD's can be HDTV, but not all LCD's are.

HDTV means that the television is capable of receiving a high definition broadcast. LCD or liquid crystal display referes to the technology used to make the screen of many HDTV sets. A LCD display is the same thing as what's used in digital watches.

You are comparing 2 different things here. An HDTV has the ability to display a hi-def picture. An LCD tv is a type of display technology like CRT, DLP, LCOS, SXRD, etc.

hdtv is a high definition tv...i think.....im not sure about the LCD though
