I got my son an Eddie Bauer one from Sears and it has been really great. I have had to take it apart 3 times for washing and everything is still in really good shape. He seems to like it. And it is easy to take apart for cleaning and get back together.

The first one we had was pretty hard to figure out. And the Second one had the pull down bar that comes in front of the child, he pulled the fabric cover off that with in a week and it did me no good to put it back once he figured that out. We used it during the winter with the cover off the bar. but in the spring when it started to heat up it would make that too hot for him so we just go t a new seat. Both of these that I didn't like were by Graco.

They were about $20 cheaper then the Eddie Bauer one, but I think it has been worth the extra money.

Oh and it turns into a booster seat when your toddler is ready for it, so it saves you from having to by yet another car seat in a few years.

I paid $62.00 for it.

I particularly did not spend a lot of money on any big name brands. A toddler seat is much like a booster seat and doesn't require anything special other then the pad of cushion they sit on, which elevates them, so they are properly secured in the car seat. Walmart was my friend on this purchase, cost me about $90. :0)

Graco's Alpha Omega...it is a convertible car seat meaning it goes for infant up to toddler (rear to forward facing)
it is a tad pricey but it last at least 4 years

I am a very overprotective mother of my 15 month old twins and I did a lot of research on the safest car seats out there. What I found was that the Britax line of car seats that are for baby to toddler (I believe up to 40 lbs) have some of the highest ratings out there. They are more expensive(I believe I paid $220 a piece for mine) but safety is more important to me.

Go to any search engine and type in car seat safety ratings and you kind find all the crash test ratings, ease of use ratings, etc.

They don't need no stinkin car seats. Just put helmets on 'em and let 'em jump around in the car.

A booster seat so it will grow with them. Graco is a good brand, so is Evenflo. Here are some I would suggest:

Britax carseats are the way to go. They are pricey but well worth it. consider your precious cargo.
