Since IE6 is a Windows program, it cannot be uninstalled no matter how hard you try. But IE7 can be uninstalled. Go to:

1) Click Start

2)Click "Add or Remove Programs"

3) Find Windows Internet Explorer 7 (way at the bottom)

4) Select it and click uninstall

5) The setup will prompt you that if any of the software depends on IE7, don't uninstall (if the software will do okay with IE6, this notice doesn't matter)

6) Follow the wizard and restart your computer

7) Wallah! IE6

Crazy thought there... but maybe you should try Firefox. I know change is bad and all but Firefox is the way to go!
