I think America and allies should stay the course.
If you back out now it sends a message to the terrorist element that they have won and they will come after you and we may very well see another genocide as in Rwanda and Sudan.
These terrorists show no mercy, one only needs to look at the history of countries which have been coping with their criminal activities for a long period of time.
one cannot back away from bullies the only way to handle it is to give them a dose of their own medicine.
Finish the job and go home.
Knowing that there are a portion of Iraqi people who will be thankful for your help and protection as I have noted when watching interviews with some of these people.
True freedom comes through military victory.
God Bless America!
Take care!

There is really no way we are going to keep the iraqis from killing each other. I would reduce the number of troops IN Iraq. I would most of them to Northern Iraq where we are still liked among the Kurds. I would also have troops in Kuwait as well. The troops that are there would be used for training. The military there would act like a swat team, in that if the Iraqi Government need help, we would be there to assist for a short period. The military should also assist the Iraqis in gathering intelligence as well as provide advanced medical care for Iraqi soldiers and police personnel. I do like the idea of partitioning the country into 3 sections, but the Turks in the north would have a problem, the Shiites would be but a pawn of the Iranians and the Sunnis would also be an arm of the Saudis. Also, if we pulled out completely, think of the Iraqis that have helped us, from translators to cooks. They would be hunted down and executed.

I would suggest more soldiers, then to split the country into sections - a Suni, a Shi'ite and a Kurd section. Then, I would put a demilitarized zone with checkpoints in the middle. No one goes to the other sides without crossing through the checkpoints. This cuts down on them killing each other.
Then, I would get the "warring" parties together - their highest people, and have them sit in a room until they work out their differences. They don't leave until they leave there hugging and wanting to have birthday parties together at Chuck - E - Cheeze's in Bagdad.
Then, these leaders all need to go and speak with their "peeps" and let them know that they are not to fight or kill each other - and if they do, they will be in big, big trouble.
All of the militias and all of the people in Iraq must be disarmed, and there must be a unified government army and police force from all sides working as one for a period of one year.
Then, the demilitarized zone can be removed, and the people can be allowed to rule themselves, and we'll pull out - and we'll do it quick, too.

All our problems in that sand heap can be easily resolved in three words: Scortch and Burn. Let's get the agent orange dusters over there and start teaching these terrorists a lesson they'll never forget. We're being too soft on these Arabs and they know it. Show them Uncle Sam's boot and they will soon gain some respect. Send home CNN and let the military sort this out without the ***** liberal press getting in the way

we have the men equipment and know how to get the job done all we have got to do is tell the generals to get he damned job did and then call us when it is finished , but, just like Jimmie Carter in the Iran rescue attempt, he tried to-run the operation from Washington, remember whet happened? now our good buddy George tried for him and his dumb *** buddy Rumsfield to run the war from Washington , another screw up , so lets let the professionals handle it this time, and I will assure you they will get the job done.
