At my school, my school nurse did vision screening and I have 20/20 in my right and 20/40 in my left, I think. Do you think I need glasses? I am going to the eye doctors.

the optomitrist and your personal opinion is the only one that counts.... so im asking you... do YOU think you need glasses?

20/40 is the legal limit for driving.
another consideration is what you vision is with both eyes, and if you are comfortable with it.
So see an optometrist, let them measure it again. Having your eyes examined is also important to make sure that nothing serious is causing your vision to be low in that eye.
Also if you have myopia (near sighted) it might get worse and you may need glasses eventually. If you have astigmatism it will not change overtime.

no. I have 20/40 vision with glasses.

before you guess at what you need just let the doctor test you and for sure you be getting the right thing. and it'll be no guessing, because if you put glasses on that you don't need it can hurt your eye worse. and you don't need that at all..

The left eye is still good enough to drive WITHOUT glasses. At this point I'd say it is up to you.

Nope. I'm 20/70 and still don't think I need 'em. But my friends just think I'm an idiot for not wearing them.

No, you don't need them. An eye doctor will always sell you some. Don't get them until you really need them. They will worry you to death. They always need cleaning; will be getting scratched; you will be losing them, etc.
