Bread was of course invented in Britain in 1939 by Mr Albert Bread. Ignore anyone who tries to claim that it dates back to some of the earliest civilisations in most cultures around the world, they're just jealous.
Hollywood are going to make a film about it, but have re-written it to be invented in Kentucky..

The first emergence of a flat bread dates back to Mesopotamia and Egypt. Yeast was introduced somewhere around 1000BC in Egypt to create something closer to what we now know as bread.
