Stupid bachelor question: is there a trick to not getting that rubbery bottom to your Jell-o mold?

You are not mixing enough. You really have to have the powder disolved (stir forever with just the hot water first before adding the cold) r it will fall to the bottom and become rubber.

if you use a good Jello mold with that Teflon-like surface you shouldn't have that sticking problem
