Does the military get a say in what wars it will fight?
Should Democrats in the military be excused from there job if we have a war with a Republican as president?

No, it does not. U.S. has a long and strong tradition of keeping the military subsurvent to the civillan authorities. Otherwise, we would have a military coup after every election. And no, because in the end, for us who wear the uniform, it's the Flag on the Uniform that we fight for, not the bumper sticker on our cars

Nope they have to do what the commander in chief and the democratic senators and democratic congressman vote FOR THE WAR IN IRAQ.

No,because even the democrats in the military have sense.

The purpose of the military is to kill people and destroy things, as instructed by the Commander-in-Chief.

It is with that purpose in mind, that we have a well trained and well equipped military, so that other nations will not attack us, because they do not want our military to go over there and execute it's purpose.

A couple of other ways of saying it are "Peace thru Strength" or that by being ready for war, peace is achieved.

to protect the country. and no they don't but maybe they should. they are not excused for their political views but if there were to be a war between republicans and democrats, other than it being a rather sad day here on earth, i'm sure many soliders would go awal and choose sides.

No the people in the military do not get a say....they follow orders....and they knew that when the signed the dotted line....

A SOLDIERS JOB IS TO OBEY THE COMMANDER AND CHIEF NO MATTER WHO IT IS.

the military is for defense of the nation. i do not think that the powers in the military get a say. the US const. tells us that congress has that power.

commander in chief is civilian. military obeys the laws of the land.
no one is excused.
