I think that answergirl hit it dead on. People gravite toward Satan rather than God simply because the adversary presents wrong choices in a nice package.
Evil doesn't actually present itself in a manner that we see it as it really is. Satan is probably the greatest pitchman that ever existed and he is certainly clever at deguising things that are harmful to us. He doesn't outwardly strike at you but lulls you into a false sense of security in that yelding to temptation here and there will not hurt us. All you have to do is look at the books, television shows, commercials, magazine ads that are just a small example of his subtle influences on modern society.
God simply gives to you straight and sometimes the lessons he gives us will not always that which we are going to like, but in the
long run for our own good.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

The pessimists believe in satan. There are more and more miserable people on earth, because they refuse to learn and to practice the teachings of the Messengers of the One True God, and they imagine that satan plays tricks on them. Satan is not a personality, it is only darkness in the soul which is deprived of divine guidance.

Because they don't like to think that God does bad things, it has to be satan, not fate?! Everybody has their own idea of what is wrong and what is right, but it is the same as always, if you do something bad, it is always remembered more than if you do something good. That is why when people get arrested they have to prove their innocence as it is much harder to prove to somebody that you didn't do it than it is for somebody to just accuse you. I wonder which would prefer vodka, heaven or hell?

If someone doesn't believe in God, why would they believe in Satan? Do you have a link or a source to these people?

Because they have no real Biblical understanding of God or the real identity of Jesus Christ, the Creator. Even the Bible they think is just men's changing words, but if they took the time to examine it they would find over six hundred places where it claims to be the unchanging word of God.

Why do some people decide to believe in God more than they do in Satan?
Why do some people wear red and some wear blue?
Why do some people decide to get help for their mental retardation and some don't?

Evil disguises itself in ease and fun. Then the trap is closed and a person feels there is no way out. Satan is very good at selling evil to humans.
