Good question, you get a thumbs up.....

but the better question is:

how did Jesus die for my sins when I wasn't even born when he died?

Jesus died for your sins so that you COULD be forgive. you still have to ask for the forgiveness and repent of your sins. you cant just live your life in sin with no thought to God or Jesus Christ and say 'it doesnt matter what i do because Jesus died on the cross so my sins are forgiven'. you have to ask for that forgiveness, repent of your sins and in your heart truly try not to sin and live your life for God.

i hope this helps because this is a great Q. if you have any more Qs pls ask me, i might not have the answer but i can probably fined someone that does.

After Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they were cursed and sin entered the world.
There was no way sin could enter Heaven which is a perfect place. so God the Father sent his Son, Jesus to be born as a baby, live on earth 33 years and then die a horrible death on the cross. He was then buried and on the 3rd day he was resurrected. He later ascended to Heaven to be with his Father.
Jesus was born so he could die for our sins. A sinless person had to die for us to go to Heaven.
All we have to do is pray and ask him to come into our hearts and save us and forgive us of our sins. Then when we die we will go to Heaven to be with Him.
After salvation, we are not sinless and continue to do bad things even though we may not want to. We sin by just thinking bad thoughts. We only have to pray and ask Jesus to forgive us for what we did and he does.
I hope this explains that for you.
John 3:16 says
For God So loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life.
God bless you.

True, if you trust Christ for you salvation, you need not be some goodie goodie prat. When you sin as a believer all you have to do is confess the sin and God forgives instantly.
You do not need to "ask forgiveness" or feel sorry, or any crap like that. Simply confess and move on:
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse from all unrightousness (unknown sins) 1 John 1.9
I love C.S. Lewis, by the way. One of the greatest, most rational theological writers to have ever come from the UK

Jesus died to repair mankinds broken relationship with God, which is a result of sin. and you are not a good person by God's standards, nobody is. but the fact remains that if you follow those laws that God gave you, you will have a better life. the rules are in place for you, so that your life can be as wonderful and great as God intended it to be. I strongly believe, and i think the Bible will back me up on this, that if you follow God's law, your life will be much better than if you try to make your own law. sometimes the reasoning behind God's rules don't seem obvious at first, but that's faith, and i can assure you, all of his rules have plenty of good reason for being there.

How many times do you expect Jesus to die for your sins? You think you can keep sinning and you are forgiven? That is like telling a child that they can keep being bad without being punished!

Yes you are forgiven. If you really believe that then there will be evidence in your life.

You will express your gratitude and love for Him by asking for His help to keep you from doing anything that would displease Him and you will gladly ask His help to do whatever it is that will please Him.

If you really believe that you are forgiven, it will result in a change in your character. You will have new desires, new motives and new purposes.

Being good makes you and others happy and this is preparing you for eternity in the kingdom of heaven. Here is what heaven is like...

In heaven, everyone is like Jesus in character; doing good and being good.

If that does not become something you enjoy doing while you are alive on earth, God will not force you to enjoy being good in heaven.

Not only did Jesus die to provide forgiveness for your sins but He was resurrected to give you power in your life to overcome sin.

Romans 6: 1-2 1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means!

Your statement sounds very familiar to me.
A famous lesbian woman ones stated: 'I am a reborn Christian and I believe that Jesus died for my sins. So I keep on sinning , so that he did not die in vain!'
I do think she was sarcastic telling people to 'clean first before their own door, but unfortunatly that is the type of live many Christians live. Sin, go to church confess, sin...blah, blah... blah...

You have to believe in Jesus to be forgiven- ask for His forgiveness and repent of sin- You cannot walk with the Lord and live in sin- they are against eachother- for God is without sin and does not allow sin into heaven- when you are saved through Jesus Christ He gives you new desires and you want to please Him- if one still sins purposely they are not following Christ. We fall into sin, because our flesh is weak- but that is different than saying "I can sin, because I am saved anyway" --that is wrong. God knows who are His sheep- And He will turn many away on that day saying "Depart from Me I never knew you" --only those who are truly saved in Christ will want to please Him--they have conviction from the Holy Spirit- As the Bible says:

Romans 6:1-3
1What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

Jesus die for the whole world. Each human has to ask Jesus to come into their hearts. He not going to make anyone. He could, but that would not be true Love.

Do not abuse Gods Grace.

Abuse; the improper use of something.
