I'm glad you have changed your mind.

Still ask them to do the MOT first and if anything needs replacing they will show you while its on the ramp.

Still ask for all the old parts back as this will make them think twice whether it REALLY needs replacing.

It varies. Most Vauxhalls (I have had four), have a two to four year cycle depending on mileage. So service year 1 = around £100, Year 2 + 200 (ish), Year 3 150, year 4 £300.

It goes up steadily year on year (on average) with more and more needing to be replaced as the car get older.

Things to watch out for:

`your exhaust is worn out'. Is it? Only replace the blighter when/ if it's blown. It's a common `fault' picked up at 3 years old & has happened with our last three cars. With the most recent one we declined the replacement and surprise, suprise it's still OK (three months later).

Your tyre are worn. Are they? Get Kwik fit to change them and save £40.00 on a pair.

Just two of the common profit makers (scams) I've picked up from `reputable dealers'. (n.b. common to many dealerships not just Vauxhall). Probably dozens of others that I've not spotted yet :-)
