Instead of listening to others, I decided to find out what I believe for myself because there were some things that preachers were preaching that I just didn't agree with. So, I'm sort of a mixture of certain Native American beliefs and Christianity. I mean, I still believe there is only one God and he came to earth in the form of Jesus, but I believe in other things also...things that I feel is right.

Am I in the wrong?

Father K....hmm, I didn't think it really mattered between "Native American" and "American Indian", and my father is an Indian so I obviously know allot about the culture also.

Thanks for all the answers..

Not at all! As a matter of fact, that is what I would suggest. NEVER rely on any person or group to determine your beliefs. If it doesn't match up with what is in the Bible, IT IS WRONG! Though as a Christian Witch, I can tell you that there WILL be some who will condemn you and say some of the most hurtful things you have ever heard. Do not let them get to you though. Just pray for them. Their judgment and condemnation of others is between them and God.

Blessed Be

God bless you. As a Catholic pastor who has done work with our missions on Indian reservations (by the way - I've never yet met a single Indian who likes to be called "Native American" - and I've been on the rez many times!) - I see many similarities between the Lakota concept of God and mine.

That's why so many American Indians are such good and faithful Christians!

I think the perfect religion would be Jesus Christ is savior, Native American lifestyle with some Judaism mixed in. Religion is a chosen way to worship God. Sounds like You have made an interesting choice.

The bible is full of foreshadowing....such as prophet Elijah and John the Baptizer, “from the River [Euphrates] to the land of the Philistines and to the boundary of Egypt,” foreshadowing the Messiah’s peaceful rule, ancient Rechabites were among the survivors of Jerusalem’s destruction in 607 B.C.E., foreshadowing the “other sheep,” who will survive the coming destruction of false religion, Jerusalem's ruin and would be built again foreshadowing Jesus death and ressurection.

Most noteworthy is what the great flood and the ark foreshadows. During Noah's time, he and his family belongs to the true worship, that of the true God. Although some people help them and listened when they told them about the building of the ark...these peopl laughed and did not enter the ark. They were drowned when the flood came.

It is the same as today, God has provided us the ark, we only need to board it before the flood (not exactly the same flood since God promised he will not send such flood again, but destruction during Armageddon)...The door of the ark is still open, we still have time to enter it...choosing to enter means choosing to be included in God's true religion. hope you find it...

Understand that religion is man serching for God. Christianity is a relationship with God. The bible says we are to study the word ourself. It is alright to listen to preachers because they are supposed to preach the word but it is up to us to study it to prove it is correct. 1 Tim. 2:15

you are 100% in the right in my book. you must follow your heart with your beliefs. seems to be we walk in similar paths. native american beliefs are similar to some christian, most pagan ways. as long as you honor your heart, do what is right, and feel the presence of the spirit of the universe and live as such, you are doing just fine.
blessed be..

I'm sure Satan is pleased that you have pulled together a new religion completely from your own imagination. If God spoke to you and ordained your odd beliefs, you would have no question whatsoever that they were right. God has a way of removing doubt.
