i think you should try to peel it slowly and carefully. it works best if you have long nails.

Fresh eggs dont peel as easily as eggs that are 1-2 weeks old!! I cannot stand "egg-y" smelling eggs (you know the kind, they have greenish centers and don't make for an appealing garnish. Here is my secret for perfect hard boiled eggs:
First, put the eggs in a large pot of COLD water (about 2 1/2 quarts for 8-12 eggs). Add a tablespoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of vinegar. The salt helps change the heat transfer properties of the water (Entropy- remember physics class).
Bring the water to a strong boil, then cover the pan and TURN OFF THE HEAT. Yes, dont keep boiling, remove it from the heat - so if its an electric stove, pull it off the hot burner. Let the eggs sit in the hot water, covered, for about 12-13 minutes. Then pour off the hot water, and put the eggs into ICE WATER for about 10 minutes.
Once cooled, use one egg to gently smash the shell of the other egg - hit it all over to crack it into small pieces. Interestingly, only one will break (usually). Under running water, gently peel off the shell, should come off easily, and the water will help to remove all the little fragments of shell.
Hope that works for you!

Extremely fresh eggs will not peel easily. In fact, an egg that is just a day or two old is almost impossible to peel. As eggs age, the shells will peel more easily. It is advisable that eggs used for hard cooking (including Easter Eggs) be at least 2 weeks old before cooking for easiest peeling. Hard cooked eggs that are cooked slowly over low heat (and not ‘boiled’) will be more difficult to peel.

Fresh eggs are always easier for me to peel. Also, after boiling the eggs, drain the water and let them cool for a few minutes. Hold the lid on the pot and shake very fast. This should crack the eggs' shells. Then you should continue peeling them under cold running water.

This works everytime and all my friends are amazed! (Especially great at easter egg coloring time!) Put eggs in water in pot. Cover exactly one inch above eggs with water. Add 3 capfuls of milk and sprinkle salt into the water. Allow to come to a rolling boil.
Cover with lid and turn off heat. Let sit for 20 minutes. Lightly tap egg and twist to take off shell. You will have egg roll right out and hold two shells in each hand...with perfect firm eggwhite and fluffly-firm yellow yolks! It's perfect!! Enjoy!

well I like to tap it hard in in the centre all around it and then you can just peel the shell off and this way it doesn't make such a big mess and you only have two pieces to throw out.
well good luck with this.
