Its showing up in your start menu. no big deal. when one uninstalls a program sometimes the link or shortcut remains.
to remove it simply go to your start menu where you previously seen it, right click and youll see a little menu then click delete.

Sometimes you just have to do a manual purge of your PC to get rid of all the junk.

In the following instructions, simply substitute in Norton and Symantec where AOL appears. You will need to do both names and cleaning the Registry of all the Symantec/Norton entries will take a while. There are about 40 or so entries in the Registry.
*****************************************************************

GETTING RID OF AOL ON YOUR PC

Do yourself a BIG favor. Remove anything on your PC that even mentions AOL. It is a resource hog and simply tries to take over your pc.

Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove any AOL programs residing there.

Now click on Start > Search > For Files or Folders > All Files and Folders
type in AOL in the top box and let the computer do a complete search of your hard drive. When it is done, click on Edit at the top of the window and click on Select All
Then click on File and click on Delete. It will ask you if you want to remove them. Click on Yes.

If you want to REALLY finish the job:

NOTE: DON'T DO ANYTHING ELSE IN THE REGISTRY OTHER THAN WHAT I MENTION HERE. If you are not familiar with editing the registry and you do other things you may give yourself some big headaches.

Click on Start > Run >
type in regedit
click once on the very top directory to hilite it.
Hold down Ctrl + F; this will open a search window
type in AOL and then click on Find Next
when it finds an AOL entry, right click on it and select Delete and yes. (Do this if it is a folder in the left hand pane or if it is an entry in the right hand pane)
Hold down Ctrl + F again and repeat the process until you have cleaned your registry of all AOL items. This may be a very tedious process so hang in there.

When you think you have it all out. Go back up to the top directory in the left pane, hilite it, and search for AOL once again just to make sure you didn't miss any.

Once you are completely done. Reboot your PC. This will reset the registry without all the AOL crap.

It could be that you moved the folder in your start menu when you had it installed. Sometimes, if you move a start menu folder, when you go to uninstall the program, it will not remove the start menu folder because it didn't find it in the location that it was installed. You can, however, remove it by right clicking on the folder, and clicking delete. I hope that this helps!

go to MY COMPUTER, then DRIVE C, then PROGRAM FILES, and right click on anything in there with a name of NORTON and or SYMANTEC and DELETE. Check in both PROGRAM FILES and COMMON FILES.
Thats all there is to it. Seeing as it has already been removed it will cause no problem doing this. I don't however recomend doing this with any programs that haven't been removed already through the add and remove programs in control panel.

first of all go to add/remove in control panel and open it up. to see if there is any mention of it there. if you see it click remove.......then go to the other places. and right click on them and click delete. just like you did the original program.. and do that to everywhere you find mention of it .......and that should take care of it............

It's possible that you've moved the folders after installation, or perhaps your computer just didn't feel like deleting those that day. It happens. Just right-click and "Delete".
