How many puppies are there in a litter?

I was just trying to get a idea of what kind of experts we have on the different breeds,and the last is just a little more knowledge for me cause I like to know different breed specific facts.
I don't think calling people names is really called for and I don't think it's very mature either . This person knows who they are!,

All dog breeds are different. I breed teacup size poodles and they usually only have 1 to 4 puppies in a litter. I also breed cocker spaniels and have never got more than 8 puppies in a litter. The larger breeds can have a lot more 14 puppies is the most I have seen. With that many puppies you have to make sure they all get adequate feeding time on mom and supplementary puppy milk would be needed.

Miniature Schnauzer. Anywhere from 3-7... 7 is a HUGE litter for a Mini Schnauzer. Bigger breeds tend to have more puppies. My sister and her husband breed Black and Tan Coon Dogs. They have from 7-12 pups. It can also depend on how many times the female is bread... If you take her to a stud and they actually get stuck... you can bet on 3-4 pups. If you do it again in a couple of days and they stick again... you can bet on a bigger litter. 5-6... but you have to understand in a smaller dog bigger is dangerous. and for the safety of the dog, one breeding each heat is best and you should skip a heat, only breed every other heat. Less stress on the females body.

I breed min pinschers. She has had 3 litters each different amount of pups. First time 1 pup, 2nd time 6 pups and 3rd time 7 pups. She is a small dog (9lbs) so it varies on the size and breed.

This really varies from breed to breed. Smaller toy size breeds usually only produce 1-3 pups, while the larger breeds can do 8 or more.

I breed basset hounds. They average 6-8 pups in a litter.

depends on how many eggs get fertilized; see other postings in answers for draw backs ; it isn't the amount of pups ; it is how much money are you willing to lose if there are problems; the more pups the more the cost, work, etc ; think before you venture down this highway ; can't turn back ; plenty of horror stories posted here; read those first

I use to breed boxers. To much work and I got out of it. There are to many unwanted dogs out there.
