When christians get a potentially life-threatening disease, or are involved in any life-threatening situation, why do they struggle to survive? Why do they cry and moan? Why do they have such fear of death?
You'd think they'd be anxious to get on to their heavenly reward...

Because it is hard for them to fully convince themselves that their fantasy world is true.

I can't speak for all Christians. I'm not afraid of death, but my work here on Earth has not yet been accomplished. I don't need to go to heaven to be with my Lord - He is with me here, right now, every second of every day.

Why do I cry and moan - well if I'm in pain, it's a natural response to the pain mechanism. If I am sad, it is a natural response to being sad. Why do I struggle - in what way? Financially, emotionally, physically, to maintain life? I don't really struggle financially - I do my best and count on God to do the rest. Emotionally, because I have not matured enough yet - but God is working with me there and I am growing. Physically, I'm in pretty good shape, but I do have some things that are bothersome - I do what I can, go to the doctor when I need to (or the dentist) and leave the rest up to God. To maintain life, because I still want to be here with my loved ones until God calls me home.

I struggle and strive to get by because I refuse to hold onto more than I need to get by and I refuse to stand on anyone else's achievement sin order to advance on the corporate ladder. I do not fear death...I have already tasted it and it was not scary the first time around, so I have no need to fear when I am going to be greeting my Savior when I get there for my final destination. Oh and I do not cry and moan. God helps those who help themselves and I know if I do not have what I need it is no one's fault but my own.

Who do you know like this? Christians do not struggle to survive. You can't categorize everyone the same. We are all different. This is such an ignorant way to think.

none of the Christians i've ever known have moaned and cried when they got an illness such as cancer and whatnot. i've heard one say he was on the banks of the river jordan and couldn't wait to see what was on the other side. i think if i found out i had a deadly illness, i wouldn't be scared for myself, but for my family. maybe that's what they're scared of.

I really don't think we're that dramatic. I know many Christians who are more joyful than ever in their illness and accept their crosses and offer them to God.

If any Christian was to mope and whine, I think it is just the fear of the unknown, and that person does not know Jesus well enough.

I, as a Catholic, do not have complete assurance of my immediate entrance into heaven, as my Protestant brothers and sisters believe. I believe one does not go straight to heaven unless there is no sin on your soul. Revelation says "Nothing unclean shall enter it. (heaven)." I believe I will be in heaven one day unless I have mortal (deadly) sin on my soul when I die.

Every Christian I've known who has been deathly ill has been peaceful. We take it and get on with it. I've never seen any of them whining or crying or moaning.

I, myself, have a very painful condition, and I don't curse God because of it. I take it as my cross to bear, even when every part of me is in pain.

What do you do if you were facing death? Would you be as peacefull as the CHristians I've known, or would you try to bargain your way out it?

I believe that their faith is not as strong as they thought or think it is. God said try me and i will make a way for you. He did not say that the way or his will for you was going to be what you wonted or what you thought it should be. But he said my will be done,. as christian we wont thing to go our way instead of God's way. W e wont every thing to be sweet, but sometimes we have to go through somethings to be a blessing or lesson to someone else. It is not about us all the time. God died for our sins , How many people do you know that would die for all of us with out complaining or trying to compromise. NO ONE but God. If we would think about that and have faith that God will provide and heal then the world would be a better place.

Do you have any statistics that back up your claim? I have seen many on both sides of belief be stoic and bear up under extreme conditions. I have also seen both sides collapse in fear and panic at the very thought that death is at their doorstep.

i imagine you replied your human being question with techniques from putting ahead that you do not totally believe God because you do not opt for to attend. possibly God is letting you beat your head hostile to the wall and once you're finished, then he can do a effective artwork once you've stopped attempting to assist him. i imagine it truly is the major for me. I provide up and enable bypass and bypass about my employer after praying and then God is able to bless me. you want to look to God in elementary words, have self belief, and comprehend on your heart that he will come with the help of because he suggested so. God continuously seems after his personal and keeps his elements. carry in there and do not get discouraged!

A christian who is firmly grounded in their faith and truly believes mourns the loss of opportunity to continue God's greatest gift, human life. They also do not fear death but do not welcome it either. God loves human life/existance and a person wiht a heart of God is just as passionate for it.
