I'm a Hurricane Katrina victim and I'm trying to get my family and I some assistance for Christmas. But most websites are only telling how you can help, not get help. So can anyone tell me where I can get assistance?

Christmas isn't about the gifts, it's about God and Jesus Christ and it's the strength of a family overcoming a serious disaster- you're not expected to have a big Christmas after something like that. Thank God you are alive. The best person to ask for assistance IS God.

Please donot be discouraged by cold blooded writers. You must call the Redcross or the Sally Ann. If you do not know how to contact them please go to the nearest place of worship and they will find one for you and maybe help you as well.

I donot doubt that there are some the went missing through the net. What with so much money that was misappropriated and most trailers are rotting at FEMA!

May god bless your family .

You can check with your local Fire Department, and with the local Police Department. They know, and work with all the area merchants, and locations of those that help. They can tell you all you need to know, and exactly what is available.Good luck.

Go to the website link below and go halfway down the page.

It is the CNN help center with many links where you can "get help".

Good luck!

What do you look like? I'll pay up to $100 an hour for some "light work" around my apartment

I would recommend that you get a hold of your local American Red Cross chapter, and talk to them. they would be your best lead.

Go to your church, if you do not belong to a church walk through any church door and someone will be glad to assist you.
