To turn your resume to a .pdf file, you do need Adobe Arobat to do it, not Adobe Reader. To put it as a .pdf file, you have to first create it in Word, then print it into Adobe Acrobat. It sounds weird to "print" it into Adobe Acrobat, but that's pretty much what you would do. As for costing money, just the amount you would need to buy Adobe Acrobat. Or you could have someone do it for you if they have Adobe Acrobat!

I could do it for you if you like. I could make it a .pdf file for you then send it back to you. E-mail me if you're interested!

In order to turn it into a PDF you will need to have loaded the Adobe software. If in fact you do have Adobe loaded then you will open the document, select file>print
then hit the down arrow on the the printer option and select Adobe PDF

Yes, you used to need to have a scanner that had software to create .PDF files. Otherwise you would need to buy Adobe, which is quite expensive.

BUT, there is a really neat program called cute pdf. It acts like a printer on your PC, remember to get the converter too. AND IT"S FREE! It's really easy, you just hit the print, and select cute pdf, and you can save your document to your PC as a .pdf.

You do need Adobe, and not just the free view only format. When you have it, click save as and change the file to .pdf

There are a few free programs that you can use. One ption is pdf995. This is free, but displays an ad after every pdf you create. Get a copy at pdf995.com. Or, you can download openoffice, which reads and writes microsoft office, as well as its own format, and writes directly to pdf. This is a completely free program, and has no ads, etc. Get a copy at openoffice.org. Hope this helps!

You need a distiller. Adobe makes one, I think it's part of Acrobat. Check download.com
