Something that he could always look at, and feel good about. A guys perspective would be very valued. Thank you!

Well Sands a painting from you I believe would be much appreciated. My fiance is also an artist and she painted the back of my wheelchair or a moonrise we witnessed together. Not only is it a one of a kind but she is with me wherever I go and I get to brag a bit about her and her talents when people ask about the painting. I have actually been asked if she would paint other people's wheelchairs as well so have kind of became a wheeling billboard. Ha! Whatever is special to you and your man would be good idea for a painting. If you enjoy watching the sunset then that would be nice. If he enjoys sports maybe a painting of his favorite team logo etc. Best of luck and I know for a fact that it will mean more to him than if you spent a million bucks on him.

I do commission work and here's what I can say guys, 15 years old to 30 years old, like.
#1 request is a painting of their favorite CD/artist ranks right at the top. I rework the idea, give a twist or two and they're happy.
#2Their favorite sport, often with their jersey number worked into the design. These paintings are usually express speed, strength etc.
#3 is moody woods scene. Stuff they would like to hang in their man cave. Tree trunks against dark snow etc. See #6.
#4 Cars, cars and more cars.
#5 Industrial, nutz and boltz, factory, mechanical.
#6 Hunting/outdoors/wildlife. See #3.
You may not enjoy painting what he would like.
I have painted more scantily-clad females on guitars and cycle gas tanks than I ever want to remember. But we all had to start somewhere.
You have to consider where it would hang-- living room, bedroom, office-- and maybe that'll help you select a theme.
Just don't make it too big--remember, you have to frame it.
good luck
