Don't make any quick decisions - tatoos are permanent, and if you change your mind later, there's nothing to be done. Will your sister be offended if you hold on to the money, or ask her to wait on going to the tatoo place until you've made your decision? The best thing to do is to go to the place where you plan to have the tatoo done, and see what they have already. It may spark an idea, or you may find one that you like. I suggest that after you chose one, you wait at least a month. Six would be better. If you still really want the design at that time, then it is probably something that you'll be happy with permanently.

You should wait until you know 110% about what to get a tattoo of. I don't know you or anything about you to suggest much else other than find something you like and something that has meaning to you and have the tattoo artist draw up something custom and more suited to your personality.

You don't want to get stuck with a tattoo you SORT OF like, so wait and take your time. Even though its a birthday gift, you don't have to get it done right away.

I suggest something that is meaningful to you, and not just 'cool' to others!
But may i also advice that if you are going for a permanent tattoo,it is exactly that, PERMANENT! Why not go for a henna tattoo and see how you feel about it? Or something more temporary atleast?
I really don't think they are as great as they are hyped to be! Good luck with whatever you decide!

Do something that means something to you. DOn't go for fads or cartoons or dumb things like that. Either pull something from your childhood (a favorite memory, place) or a symbol you have ALWAYS loved.

Whatever you do, do NOT get a boyfriend's name. It is bad luck and a huge mistake if you later on give him the boot.

Good luck!

I got my initial on the back of my neck. It is a really cute fancy "A" that swirls into a heart. Go with something simple and elegant.. not too much cuz its always cute and lady like to get one that isn't all crazy like a big dragon or tiger! This was my first and only tattoo, and it didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. Just keep your mind on something else while your getting it... I just thought of something worse, and the guy was surprised that I wasn't hurt!

I think tattoos on girls are a turn off. But if you want you can write Sas, which is the 3 starting letters from your town, as well as SAS secret services, Sister and Sister, and my last name too. Even if you tattoo my last name on your sexy bum I still think a tattoo on a girl is a turn off. Good luck anyway.

here's the rules first: NO names of lovers no matter how committed, NO arm tattoos (trust me, on females, they are not appealing), and NO pictures of people who have died. I suggest you get something to represent you - a symbol of your cultural background (do extensive research!), a symbol of your religion if you have one, or just something that you feel represents you. I only advise you to look into what you are getting because you must know what your tattoo really means.

If you are hurrying to decide plus then get advice from people you dont know you might end up with something that you dont like in the outcome accept the gift but take your time to think what you really want its giong to be on you for ever unless you have it taken off and that costs more than putting it on

you should get something personal that you won't hate when you are older. Maybe you should look at the tattoo place and see what they got! or if you draw make your own that's what I did!
