9 is the ideal age for a bridesmaid.

Make her a junior bridesmaid with gift table duty meaning she will meet guests at the door of the reception and get the gifts to the table or gift display... During the actual wedding she will walk down the aisle in what ever position you choose I would suggest after the flower girls but before the older bridesmaids... in the recession she will walk in the same order... Make sure her dress is similar to the bridesmaids dresses but in a style appropriate for her age (for instance make the color the same) make sure it is a different dress than the flower girls however...

With alot of the attention being on you and her being 9 she may feel a bit of jealousy or leftoutness.. by giving her a special job (gift table duty) having her dress in the same color as bridesmaids you will make her feel a part of it all and alleviate her feelings... Remember to make a bit of time before the wedding for a sisters lunch (go to a nice moderately priced resturant (a dress up kind of place) just the two of you present her with a necklace (a locket with a picture of the two of you in it) Tell her you know you have been busy and really appreciate her helping with the wedding (make sure the necklace is something she can wer to the wedding because she will want to... Make sure she gets her hair and nails done like everyone else for the wedding she will llove it...

At the reception make it a point to get some sister pictures taken so you will both have pictures to remember it by as sisters...

You can make her a Jr. Bridesmaid since she is too old to be a flower girl and too young to be an actual bridesmaid.
I did that for my neice when she was 7 - she loved it because it made her feel grown up and included. Her dress was a mini version of the dresses the rest of the party wore.

I think at age 9 your sister would still be more appropriately a flower girl over the junior bridesmaid. Junior bridesmaids I feel are in their teens.

You might consider having her as a junior bridesmaid. This is a position for someone who is too old for a flowergirl, but too young for a bridesmaid.

I recently got married and had my two younger sisters as junior bridesmaids. This helps them feel like part of the wedding, and your new life with your spouse!

Best wishes!

Junior Bridesmaid. My (9 year old at the time) goddaughter was mine. I dressed my junior attendents (jr bridesmaid, flower girl, ring bearer) in light blue (the girls had $3 Easter dresses that I found on clearence and fit them both like they were made for them!) and he had on a tux with light blue accessories. The other groomsmen, ushers, and fathers had green accessories that matched the other bridesmaids' accessories.

make her a junior bridesmaid. They are treated just like a regular bridesmaid...only younger. She could walk alone in front of the flower girls and ring bearer or if your groom has a younger relative..include him as well.

Make her a junior bridesmaid.... you could have her in a similar dress at your bridesmaids but a little different, for example if your girls are wearing strappless, have your little sister be in the exact dress but with spagetti straps that would be really cute.

is she well behaved? She can be a junior bridesmaid. I think she is too old to be a flower girl. Let her feel just as important as the other bridesmaids...Invite her to your bridesmaid's luncheon or whatever PG you are having for them...Good luck

Do you think she's too old to be a flower girl? Also, you could make her a junior bridesmaid.
