My son did that from allergies. Ask your pediatrician, something in her stomach is not settling. His was a milk allergy which he outgrew. She can suffer from malnutrition and dehydration, why have you not had this checked??

Does this happen after she eats? I didn't understand the "it'll always happen within the first 5 minutes" part.

Anywho. My brother had an issue like this till he was 8. He eventually grew out of it. She MAY be doing this for attention, but if you really don't think that's the case it may be what my brother had. There is a tube connecting your stomach and throat. I'm not going to get technical on terms b/c quite frankly, I don't know the terms, but I know what was going on. :) Anywho. He would always spit up. It wasn't because of over-eating, etc. The reason is b/c the tube was too small to allow the food to go down as quick as normal. Eating slow didn't help b/c it's hard to eat that slowly. Well, on top of that, there is a flap that holds the food in instead of letting it come back up. The flap was open partly so it caused him to not be able to digest food the right way and whenever he laid down, or moved around a lot, he'd throw up. The doctors ran many tests, but it doesn't show up on blood tests, etc. They eventually figured it out and after he got older, my mom would make him stay calm for about an hour after eating so his food would go down all the way and he'd be fine. He couldn't lay down for about 2-3 hours so he couldn't eat right before bed. The doctors did want to do surgery (which is an option), but they said after a while, he'll grow out of it. The cause was that the tube and flap didn't grow as fast as he did. It's not a serious condition, it's just....irritating. If I were you, I'd talk to your doctor about this. Maybe he'll be able to check to see if that's the case.

I hope she gets better! I know it can get exhausting!

Check with the childs doctor. Try changing her diet? Also inside of everyone there is a little flap that covers the tube to your stomach- that makes sure that food doesn't come up. In some children it takes longer to develope. I don't know what its called, my mom told me I had that when I was a baby. Talk to the doctor about it.

Honey , get that baby to a new doctor ! Its not for attention , its called reflux. I am so sorry for your little one and you. My son went through this but is now 5 years and has grown out of it. It is painful for the child , like extreme heartburn and sick stomach. Be careful what you feed her , she may have food allergies as well. best wishes!

I would suggest going to a pediatritian. Sounds like to me the skin flap that goes over the stomach. Most newborns develop this while in utero and it keeps them from vomiting their formula excessively (though due to it being one of the last things developed it is not very strong at birth hence the spit up!)

i have a two year old daughter that does the same thing and for a long time the doctors couldnt figure out why but then we paid alot of money for a specialist and he said it was because of her nerves. he said that when shes gets over excited or upset thats how her body deals with it he said its like an anxiouty attack for children. shes now on anti anxiety medicine and it has stopped.

She's probably just an excitable child, but perhaps you should ask your doctor...she could have a form of reflux, where the stomach acids rise back up into the food pipe.

sounds like my daughter (now 11). She was lactose intolerant and used to throw up everyday. Her pediatrician suggested Soy Milk or formula and cutting out all other dairy. it worked for her.

if that don't work go to the doctor!
good luck!

my son was throwing up about 20 times a day (unfortunately I'm not kidding)

it turned out he had an under developed digestive system & an intollerance to lactose.

You may want to get your child allergy tested

This sounds like a problem in which it would be most helpful to you to take your baby to a doctor.
