I have quite a few tats- been to many a tattoo parlor and can honestly say I have never seen someone who does tats that is a bad artist.

I have seen some artists that are not quite as gifted...but I have yet to meet someone where they were bad.

However- prison tattoos are usually pretty bad but then again they aren't successful are they?

My advice is to take some art lessons- or become an investor in a shop with good artists that you have met.

Good luck

Without "Natural" Drawing capabilities? Yes it's called Art classes and and apprenticeships. Now if after you have done both and if you still are not able to draw then no one in their right mind would let a person who can't drawl be a tattoo artist in their shop. Not all tattoo artist are born with the ability to be a great artist. Several of them have to work at it to get better. Some are just born with that talent.

haha thats very funny. How do you think a person could be a good tattoo artist, a profession where drawing pictures on people's skin permanently in ink, without having the least minimum of art skills in the first place. Even though some can be done with stencils on wax paper, you still need a smidget of art skills - what if you cant even draw what the person wants with a pencil? how would you know? no truly excellent tattoo artist always goes by a stencil.

I doubt that there are any tattoo artists that are so famous they are known by name but i know that when you are getting a tattoo done they put what reminds me of a fake tattoo on first and then just follow the design. So I would say you have to have a steady hand and good tracing abilities to become a tattoo artist.

I'm sure you can. But if I was your client I wouldn't want you tattooing me. Tattoo artists who have tattoos show that they have a passion for what they do by showing their ink. If you don't have any tattoos then my impression would be that you don't have an interest in them. I don't want someone to to be working on me that makes me feel that it's just about money.

ive never heard of anyone, probably because nobody would let them near their bodies without some talent.
Most tattoo artists create some of their own designs as well and can charge way more for them, so i doubt anyone would be successful with no talent
