Lauren,
Men check out most everything that passes them ~ whether you notice it or not ~ whether they admit it or not. How many will cheat tho? I have a philosophy I live by. If they're gonna do it....they're gonna do it. Nothing you can do can change this. I have a good friend that's jealous (like a freak) b/c he thinks she's gonna cheat. The jealousy is unattractive, he's a mess, and I'm sure the relationship will end eventually b/c of his fears.
I will say tho ~ lack of communication is the main reasons for break-ups/divorce. Let your partner know you trust them and they are always responsible for their own actions.
With this in mind, if your partner did cheat the guilt would eat them alive and I'm sure a confession would follow.
Julian~

It depends on the time of day???? If there on vacation in Vegas the temptations are hard to resist for some. It depends on their verbal abilities smooth things over if the gf is catching on. A man that is crap talker they are best off not to cheat because they pro badly don't like the drama. It depends on the personality of the person tempting the act if the women is discreet, and doesn't want the attention the temptation odds are raised. If you the female is drams queen and it will come back to gf in short time then probably gonna have to use impulse control there. It depends on the male tolerance for the drama. and the verbal smoothness talk if problems arise. Still, I don't endorse cheating, and most times if you can hold back on making a stupid sexual adventure i recommended at all times. Women cheat too, but it depends on the definition of the relationship. Temptation of lust is always has toxic side effects, but it seems men give in the lust figuring they can deal with the fallout later. The man may cheat but it doesnt mean he hates the women hes with just poor impluse control when the lust adventure too hard to resist.

I do not agree necessarily that it is innate for men to CHEAT since the idea of monogamy, and therefore cheating, is a civil creation, not a biological one. I do think we (men) have an internal drive to reproduce as much as possible since at one point that was necessary for the survivial of our race.
That being said, I find myself daily thinking about what we would now consider cheating (sexual relations with someone not my girlfirend) but have never given in and do not plan on ever giving in.

With the way women nowdays flaunt themselves in front of men, probably all the time. You're very lucky if you find a Real Man that holds the values of a relationship with one women. Theres nothing wrong with looking. What kind of man would you have if he wasn't attracted to other women...what kind of man? do you have if he can't control his behavior. Just the same with cars...just because a man really likes that hotrod parked in the neighbors driveway doesn't mean he's gotta run out and get one.

I fight temptation everyday in a world that's full of sweetness. I'm like a kid in front of a candy store with a really bad sweet tooth. What keeps me straight are my values and love for someone. However, in my case, I'm available to see whomever I want til I meet the right woman. Good luck!

Any man, any one - will come to a point where they would cheat, if they thought they could get away with it. We've ALL been there. Everyone gets tempted, and gets their chance. You will, too. But, you need to b careful with a man who can't stop playing hide the sausage wih a differnt n everytime. How would you ever be excitng enough to make him stop? It's a sickness- and no matter wht, you aren't the doctor.

Looking at your pic, I'm fighting the temptation to contact you now. jk.
Every once in a while. It doesn't happen often, but everyone is temped at some point. It's how you respond to those situations that define you.

Well now, since you know, it's a done deal....:} come on it's not innate, that's male bashing.
I'm a man and didn't/don't screw around, kind of a personal code of honor thing with me. I never had much respect for a friend or acquaintance screwing around on his wife and messing his, her and the children's lives up.

Depends on the man, but spend one day with testosterone coursing through your veins and you will understand - its the biological desire to sire offspring. Temptation is ALWAYS there - its how a man responds to it that makes him a gentleman or not.

It is not innate for men to cheat. Men make the choice to cheat because they are immature. If you have that attitude, you'll end up with a cheater bec your man will learn that you will put up with his crap rather than kicking his butt to the curb.
My friend learned this lesson the hard way. Her dh cheated on her and was insisting she had to forgive him. She blurted out, "Well, Karen would not forgive you!" And he told her, "Hell, I wouldn't have cheated on her because she wouldn't forgive me. She's tough, you're not. There's no way I'd cheat on her." Lesson learned.
