Christians sin as much as we do because we are human.

That's why you sin as much as you do.

If they do, they are going against the direct directive of God:

Rom 5:20-6:2 - 6:2

20 The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

6:1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
(from New International Version)

CHRISTIANS DO SIN. But it is no longer what they want to do. Their will has been changed to serve God and not their own desires. There are all kinds of levels of maturity among Christians. Some are like little children who give in to things that are not good for them. But God does still love them.

Matt 12:20
20 A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out,
(from New International Version)

okay let's get intelligent for a minute.

"all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Scripture says that no one, not even one is sinless, not even Christians. Christians don't have immunity when they sin. The results could be the same for us as it is for an unbeliever.

When an unbeliever sins or has something bad happen to them. for the most part they drink, smoke, or sex themselves into forgetting.
When a Christian sins we have the cross and loving hands of God to run to.

No they do it because it is Human Nature. The Lord does know how imperfect I am but He knows how grateful I am too.
I'm assuming that you are not a Christian and was wondering if you have given any thought to why you do wrong things if you do I'm sure you'll see that it is human nature to act in selfish ways at times and that it is universal and not peculiar to Christians it is every human.

Although I do believe that the Lord will hold religious leaders to higher accountability as He should.

Everyone sins, not just Christians.... You do realize what a huge percentage of the world practices Christianity, right? Your question is a judgement.... judgement is sin... Did you ask the same question of yourself? Why is it that you sin? We all sin, no one is perfect... God forgives EVERYONE of their sins if you ask for forgiveness. Life is not about never sinning... It is about realizing your mistakes and striving to be a better person and trying hard not to make the same mistakes. Sin, however is inevitable.

Sin is a human response. All people sin no matter what religion they profess to belong to. No one is immune from sin. Jesus died for our sins to give us the opportunity to repent and to do better. If we do not repent and make progress here on the earth He can not save us.

If they are, they are going against the word of God and will face judgment. There are a lot of Christians who think there is no difference between a bar stool and a church pew,and that's sad. Most of the time it's because they are scared to take on the responsibility.Scared of what their friends might say,or want the world instead of eternal life.

Christians sin because they want to and they don't even think about Jesus when they are doing what ever it is that they do. It is only when they are really sick or have been in an accident to they think about Jesus

Jesus's death brings the forgiveness power......has nothing to do with immunity.

actually, yes. they say that it is okay to sin because we all sin and fall short of the glory of god, but as long as you accept jesus as your lord and savior then you are guaranteed a place in heaven. that's strange morals in that you can be an awful person and get to heaven, but if you don't worship jesus then you will burn in hell regardless of how well you treat others.
