If you got a Tailgating ticket in NYC you must have been tailgating real bad. You were probably observed for a long time. With such heavy traffic in NYC everyone tailgates. It is almost impossible not to. Info like what time of day (Peek or non-peek hours), Street or Inner-city Highway, who were you tailgating, how long were you observed tailgating are all important factors. Your excuse sounds pretty lame. Only you and the Officer who issued the ticket know the truth. Who do you think the Court will believe. Pay and caulk it up to experience. If you lie in court you may really get stung.
