Yes, unfortunately the pubic is at the mercy of the police when it comes to car searches. The can search a car if there is "probable " cause, and they are the ones who determine what probable cause is, when they are patrolling the streets.

I guess it's possible. However, a lot of times if the cops can't prove that they smell weed people will not admit to the fact that they were smoking in the car. I have heard a couple of different people complaining that they got busted and no one even had proof. Then when you ask, well did you do it? They say yes but claim that is not the point.

Ummm... No!
I'm sure that you have already gotten used to the smell of your weed and you can't smell it anymore. Usually a cop will pull you over and the stench is there. If he can smell it, he usually will request that he search your vehicle. 95% of the time, those hiding something don't want to make it obvious and OK the search. That is when he will find something.
Most people who don't like cops are criminals or just plain ignorant! *Many times both*
Oh yeah when a Cop pulls you over for an infraction you are not a criminal! You may have been speeding or forgot to wear your seat belt but that's it! You cannot classify someone who gets a speeding ticket and a bank robber in the same category

I have arrested so many people based off of that smell.
Ya'll think for a second. If you smoke, you don't smell that odor of burning tobacco anymore. Your clothes, breath, car, house, etc...smells like tobacco now.
Marijuana is the same thing. If you smoke weed, you WILL smell like it. And your car. The odor hangs around guys and galls.
Any time I've searched after I smelled it, I've always found some trace of drugs. Sometimes just seeds and stems...and they dont always go to jail. But my nose hasn't been wrong yet.

They dont really have to. I dont know if you know but once you are pulled over, you obviously had to break the law in some way. So you are a "criminal", this is probable cause. So watch out!!! the best thing to do is never carry it with you. if u do a permanent marker casing is smell proof. Never admit to being intoxicated (I mean high, drunk is a different story) under any circumstances. Get a lawyer and a toxicologist. i just thought u might want to know this.

Sure, it could and sometimes does happen...
But usually "there's no smoke without fire"-
Of course, if anybody LOOKS like the type of person who might do this type of thing, their risks of getting their car - or anything else - searched increases.

Yes, that is one. Another they use is to say that your car matches the description of a car used in an armed robbery.
