Yep, most of my friends who didn't go to college are better off financially then the ones who have. They didn't have to drop a boat load of money or take a loan to get educated. They got trained on the job while getting paid. So now they make better money than me and own houses. Where I'm on square one. A lot of college grads have low paying, bad jobs too. Not just the uneducated. But it all depends on what you want to do and who you want to be.

Sure, but you have to have strong work ethics, have a personality that people can trust, be trustworthy and dependable, get yourself some good connections and work hard! There are a lot of successful and rich people out there that did not go to college. It can be done, but just like if you went to college, you still have to put the effort into it to make it pay off. Good luck

Of course you *can*, but will you? Just don't be average...
The stats from the Census http://www.census.gov/population/www/socdemo/educ-attn.html
show direct links: the more education you get, the higher your average earnings will be.
"Adults ages 25 to 64 who worked at any time during the study period (1997-1999) of a special report issued by the Census in 2002 earned an average of $34,700 per year. Average earnings ranged from $18,900 for high school dropouts to $25,900 for high school graduates, $45,400 for college graduates, and $99,300 for workers with professional degrees (M.D., J.D., D.D.S., or D.V.M.). With exception of workers with professional degrees who have the highest average earnings each successively higher education level is associated with an increase in earnings."
This is kinda outdated (5 year old data), but more schooling means less unemployment for the average American: http://www.salliemae.com/about/news_info/highereducationstats/moreyoulearn_moreyouearn.htm

Yes you can. If you've got lots of personality and a persuasive nature, marketing or sales are a great way to make good money without a degree. You can even climb the company ladder.

Yes, depending upon what you choose to do. Right now people in trades (plumbing, electrician etc) make pretty good money and are in demand, but you do have to go through a lot of training. Retail doesn't pay as well, but if you get into management then you can do okay.

Think of it this way: Do you want to be the guy PUSHING the mop or the guy who OWNS the building where there's a guy pushing a mop.
Just do it...get your degree.
