The gifts that God has given to his church are listen in 1Corinthians 12 these gifts work via the Holy Spirit.
These are spiritual gifts, wisdom thru the spirit, the word of
knowedge, faith, gifts of healing, working of mericals, prophecy,
discerning of spirits, different kinds of tounges, interpretation of tougues. We are not speaking of fruit we are speaking of Gifts.
1 Corinthians 14 pursue love. and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. So we are instructed to seek the gifts for the building up of the body. This whole chapter is about the use of the gifts and the reason why they are given to the church. But you do not find any of these gifts operating in the baptist faith in these times. You know in the latter times the spirit expressly state there shall come into the church men in sheep clothing who inwardly are ravious wolves. having the outword appearence of Godlyness but lacking the power there of. So my question. Is the baptist apostate???

Are the Pentecostals really teaching the bibe? How about the Assemblies of God? or Church of God? There are some Baptist pastors that do teach on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and that do support and allow the Holy Spirit to disburse His gifts to who He wills. There are some Pastors that are truly filled with the Word and Spirit of God and there's some that are filled with tradition and religion and are stuck in their ways, not allowing the Holy Spirit to move through them and the congregation. Demonations are ony used to cause division within the body of Christ. To single out Baptist is wrong....The problem is not with Baptist, the problem is with a deceptive and erroneous spirit that has crept into the church...that we've allowed. But there is a remnant that God is raising up that is walking in His obedience, power, & love.......And you shall know them by their fruit

No. According to I Cor. 12 and 14, there are diverse gifts, not just the sign gifts. While I do not try to constrain God and how He may work in and through the Church, I believe the sign gifts were for the most part, for a particular time and purpose. I have been in Charismatic churches and I have yet to witness anyone speaking in tongues in a Biblical way. It is a foreign language used to transmit the Gospel message to those who do not understand the language of the speaker, and there is to be an interpreter present. The sort of tongues spoken, which is suppose to be some kind of special language between God and the speaker is unbiblical and not the proper use of gifts. The gifts of the spirit are for the edification of the entire body. The other gifts, prophesying(which is speaking the wisdom of God), governing, helps, teaching, etc. are displayed in all true Christian Churches.

2Ti 3:5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

It says that they deny the power of God, not that they don't have it.

I Corinthians was talking to the Corinthians who had spiritual gifts. They got it by the apostles laying their hands on them. Since there are no more apostles, there are no more miraculous gifts. If you have evidence of anyone who currently has a miraculous gift (and not one that conveniently can't be proven), I would be interested to see it.

In fact, if you look at the context more closely, such as in I Corinthians 13, it discusses how love is more important than any of these gifts. This should be considered before you chose not to love those who lack that which is less important.

It probably is not just the Baptists. _All_ of the denominational 'leaders' /'elders'/etc that I have asked about this have said something on the order of,
"These gifts have been withdrawn. Have you heard of anyone being raised from the dead recently?"...and etc.
The Bible definitely says that such signs will follow those who believe.
It also says that not many will find the way of truth, and if the signs are a telltale of believers, there aren't many. I've seen none, so far, but I'm still looking.

I live in East Texas, a very baptist area.. I see all of these gifts and more given out by baptists. While I may not agree with everything they teach, I see all this and more.

Wisdom? Word of knowledge? I know baptists that love the word and have Holy Spirit word for me many times.
Faith, are you kidding, who has more faith than someone that believes once in grace always in grace?
Miracles! awesome prayer sought miracles.

I have a friend that went to Honduras recently. She is a very lively baptist women, who was Preaching. Yes preaching. and the entire Spanish speaking audience could understand her, while she was praying for them, she began to prophecy healing and word.

God is bigger than any denomination. Don't limit him.

In Christian love, Vicki

No.Baptist is a denomination of Christianity, not a faith by itself.

We go strictly by the bible. My church in particular does not teach or preach cotton candy Christianity. We do not bend God's word to suit our needs and wants.

If you want a church that's doing the wrong thing and leading people to hell.Check out Rick Warren and his church. He is a hypocrite, and a black eye to the church.

You show me a church that does not have their own religious spin and I will show you the True church of God. None of the religions that are organized religions have 100% of the bible preserved in it's entirety. Man has corrupted all of them to greater or lesser degrees. Anyone who says otherwise is deluded. All one can do is have faith in God and accept Jesus as your savior and let God filter through the rest of the nonsense man has given you.

In the greater scope of the question, yes they are. Although they do not teach a lot of the things you have listed. But if a person is a Christian these things will come to them as God dictates to them.
