My bf went camping for 1week and he calls me and I asked him did u have fun and he said yes we met a few girls up there but I swear nothing happened. Why would he say this?

Because he's a dunce. and doesn't know how to keep things that happen on the side to himself. lol
Really, probably nothing happend. Maybe he's just trying to show you that he can still be attracted to and by the opposite sex.

Because he was telling you the truth before you could ask weither or not if there were girls up there. He said it so you wouldn't accusse him of cheating just because he met some new people. He's keeping the relationship open and honest because he really likes you this is why he did it
