"Taking something for granted" means that the person does not appreciate whatever it is that is being taken for granted.

For example, if I took my mom's cooking for granted, I would not thank her for cooking the meal. If a guy took his good fortune for granted, he would act rather ungrateful.
------
As for "lol", it is an abbreviation of "laugh (-ing) out loud".
An other example is "ttyl" which means "talk to you later". "rofl" means "rolling on floor, laughing", and "brb" means "be right back". There are a lot more, but I'm sadly lacking knowledge in this area

Computer short hand is very common today, but that doesn't mean it's proper grammer.

When you take something for granted, you are presuming that it will never change and that you have expereinced all there is to experience about that certain something.

A good example in my life is how I grew up in a beach resort town. I took my location for granted and rarely went to enjoy the recreational and natural wonders of the beach and ocean. It wasn't until I moved away from that town that I realized how important it was to me to live in a beach community. I took my surroundings for granted.

Fortunately for me, I was able to move back to the same area and really appreciate it. In many cases when one takes something for granted, a second chance isn't always available.

to grant something is to give it. So when we say he took it for granted, we mean he took it as given, or he wasn't grateful, or he expected it, didn't give the idea much thought.

lol means laugh out loud it is way of writing a laugh haha

Took for granted means that an assumption was made, without any actual proof or evidence. You might see a man and woman together, and take for granted that they are married based upon their behavior together.

LOL stands for Laugh(ing) Out Loud.

To take something for granted means to not appreciate or be thankful for what someone is doing for you. If someone took your love for granted they would take advantage of you and not be thankful for the love you give them.

Taking something for granted means not respecting its true value. Like if you take someones love for granted you don't respect how important their love is to you or how upset you would be if you didn't have their love. Because you have their love and it is unlikely it will go away you may treat them badly or don't retum their love as you should.
