Has been messing with this woman for as long as I can remember. Since my family has met her, we have all noticed that she uses my grandpa for his money. My grandpa retired years ago, and when he retired, she left him. She pops up around the time his SSI checks come in and he gives all of his income to her (he also rents out his home and lives with me). I don't like to see this happen to him. My family says that if we tell her anything that my grandpa gets mad (my auntie actually beat her up and grandpa didn't talk to the family for about 10 years) but I don't care. I am watching all of this wear down my grandpa, and his 14 year old son is also being a gold digger. I don't know what to do, but I need to stop all of this before my grandpa passes away. But on the other hand, older people don't like to be alone, so I think he confuses his feelings up and that's why he deals with her. Any ideas are welcome, and I am kinda alone on this because my family won't interfere.

I don't like her at all, and I am honestly debating going to kick her a*s, and anyone who tries to help her (no, she isn't an old lady- she is around my moms age-40) but that would upset my grandpa.....

You will just have to let it ride its own course. Some type of intervention should have been done years ago. It is unfornate that your grandpa has people in his pockets and to intervene now would of course upset him after all of these years. Users are a part of our society and not only pray on the elderly but anyone that they can manipulate. Of course, if she is caught in the act of doing something dishonest, call in the law. If you dont already, ask your grandpa if you can review his bank and financial records to see if something is going on. This could be the only possible way of exposing this woman. When people are using a person like this they get very comfortable with it and that is when they make mistakes and get revealed. Good luck to you in this situation.

Does it bother your grandfather that he gives the ssi check away? Does he have enough money from the rent left over?

Sit down and ask him why he gives her the money. You never know what the true answer is. Heck, maybe he has children with her.. you never know, right?

You have to wonder why your family won't interfere ......

Maybe they don't care cause you are taking care of him... if that's the case ...... who's house is it where she comes to? If it is yours tell her you will have her arrested for trespassing if she comes there again. Then when she comes do it.

Your grandfather knows what hes doing. Its his life and not yours or your family's. Best let it go. I realize it pains you but there isn't anything that says you have to accept her as part of your family. When the old guy dies you'll be rid of her and her 14 year old kid.

All I can say is tell him how you feel and let him make his own choice because if you try to get into you can mess up your relationshp up
