We are born with curiosity, and a need to understand our surroundings, and discover the "truth" of our existence. Religion (God) satisfies that need with easy answers, nothing more.
Some of us are simply more determined to find the truth than others.

No, fortunately most people are not born with schyzophrenic mental disorder. Unfortunately some people devellop these disorder strictly because of the bad influence of some people around them that continuously brainwash them.

Humans are just curious creatures that are very aware of their surroundings, and feel the need to understand things. If "god" explains things that cannot be explained for someone, then that is most likely what they'll believe in.

I wouldn't say a need for it. I would say a niche for it. It is called ignorance. Anywhere there is a little ignorance there is room for a god to step in and fill the void.

I think so. I honestly think that a need for spiritual existance and an understanding of something far more then us is what drives us. Which is why I admit I don't understand atheists at all.
