I have an oral surgeon appt. in 2 days but it is killing me now. I have been taking vicodin and oxycodone every 6 hours around the clock and they work for a little bit but it seems 2 hours before i can take another one the pain comes back even worse. HELP ME PLEASE.

Is the oxy mixed with an anti-inflammatory in the same tablet?
After I got my wisdom teeth out, I had to take oxy and large doses of ibuprofen... oxycodone for the pain, ibuprofen for the swelling/inflammation.
Inflammation causes pain... so it was necessary to take both...
Just be careful 'cause I started REALLY craving the stuff after a while.
Naproxen is what works for me the best for any type of inflammation. I don't know what country you live in, but it's OTC in the States.
Also, try the oral numbing gels. They work for me when I have a searingly painful canker sore.

Good luck, and I really hope the pain gets better soon!

Ooh. You need to get off those drugs. They're highly addictive and the more you take them, the less they'll help the pain.

Try some over the counter numbing gels or sprays. I've had good luck with Orajel.

Try Ambesol or Anbesol (one of those 2). It's an over the counter medicine. Tastes nasty, but it dulls the pain rather well.

Oddly enough, I held cold water in my mouth to ease the swelling. It worked (kinda). That and asprin and Orajel. Good luck with that, it sucks!
