Try a burst of bright light - about 15 minutes worth - early in the morning. Also, try to get outside during the day. Sunlight and bright light cause seratonin levels to rise - drops in seratonin lead to feelings of fatigue and depression.
Gingko baloba and gingeng are supposed to be mood elevators, but I'm not real sure about their usefulness.
Congrats on the baby! I know it's tough, but hang in there!

You should definitely tell your doctor before you start taking any herbal remedies. Not that these remedies aren't effective, you just don't want them to react with any medication you are taking now and cause something even worse. I know st. johns wort in particular can have bad interactions with prescription drugs. Your doctor may even be able to recommend a good holistic practitioner who can help you pick which natural remedies to try and in what dosages and combinations. Remember, natural remedies can be just as effective, but also as complicated as prescription drugs.

Yes.
Studies have shown that omega-3 is effective against depression. And it is actually also quite good for your arteries !
If you like fish, I say knock yourself out.
If you don't, like me, there are supplements available, even one which is especially balanced for depression (called OM3 in Canada... don't know if it is available in the states). If you go for the supplement, go for one that is made from fish, as it is the most efficient against depression.
Hope this helps

I recently read that there was a report out saying that walking it off (depression) is just as effective as taking anti-depressants.

As long as you aren't breastfeeding---St. John's Wort may help. It's in the vitamin aisle.
If you are breastfeeding, the only thing you can do is get counseling. Anything--natural, too--will be passed through the breast milk.

Not thinking about it would help. Staying busy would too. Setting daily goals, improving your discipline, and daily exercise would do great things.

First see your doctor. You always have the right to refuse medication but your doctor should be aware of this, for your safety and for your babies.
