Whatever you do, do not get a perm. It damages your hair so badly and it takes ages to grow out. Although there is a new thing where you can perm your hair straight, this is apperently supposed to help your hair, you can get it from Boots. I suggest if you do get a perm do it in a salon professionally.

Perms are not in fashion at the moment but will probably make a comeback in the future. And Leonas hair is naturally curly

Yes it should work. It just depends on which kind you use. You can save money by learning to do it at home. Its not that hard. I have naturally wavy hair and I get my hair permed all of the time. Try going to a black salon. They are used to doing perms on their clients hair. Oh and myneighborisanass2 the perm was originally created for african american hair and its only incredibly bad if you decide to color while you perm it. I am very glad that Madame C.J. Walker created it because without it, my hair would look a hott mess!

Perms are still pretty much in fashion because people always want what they don't have! The perms of today are MUCH better quality than those of even as little as ten years ago, so it's harder to tell if the curls are real. Most people don't get the "wash and wear" style perms of the 70s and 80s, they get them now for added texture and to make a curling iron or roller set to hold better.

I think pretty much anything goes anymore as long as you're comfortable with your appearance, you'll look confident and stylish.
