I think god can spread across both. You don't need a church to honor your god. God--whomever or whatever he/she/it may be--should be able to cross lines of religion and secularism if god is truly omnipresent and omnipotent.

However, I do not pretend to understand the workings of any higher being.

God can not be secular or religious. These terms are invented by men.

Neither. We humans put labels on one another, but as for labeling God, He alone holds the undisputed self-title and demands absolute recognition, adoration and loyalty from secular, religious, good and evil, Jew and Gentile, heaven above, earth below, sea beneath for He created us and everything around us bows down to His authority. That I know!

Secular, because who has He got to worship? Unless the God of our earth is a lesser god.

the belief in God is Religious, but God himself? hmm, he is a religious figure.

(By the way did you know when you write God with a capital G you are showing your respect to him calling him by name. Small g is like saying a god, not God, do you see what I'm trying to say?)

I don't understand your question but will say this. Religion is simply a way of life. If one would take the10 commandments and the other rules, it would form a perfect society. If no one stole, I wouldn't have to lock my doors. If no one killed. I wouldn't have to be careful what part of town I visited at what hour. If no one lied, I could trust everyone. If no one committed adultery, there would not be fatherless children that I have to support with my tax dollars, and pay the women's rent for her, then I would have more money to spend myself. Drinking, smoking, and drugs bring more miseries to the world with health issues etc. I pay for them with higher health insurance rates. I pay more in departement stores because people steal, and even when they don't, there has to be a lot of security costs to keep them from it.

I look forward to a world like this. If all the bad people go to another part of the world, then this is the world that will be left. So I will keep to my hope. My Father In Heaven has said. "For this is my work and my glory, to bring to past the exaltation and eternal life of man." He is trying to take away all our misery. That is what I look forward to.

It is said that God made us in his own likeness. We are spiritual in nature, meaning we long for answers and guidance. God must be the same. I would say God is very much like a father, thus we make numerous analogies to that affect.
