I recently have been flirting and sort of hanging out with this boy. At first, and when we were alone he seemed like a perfect gentleman; always holding doors and helping me out of a car and such. Lately, when he's around his other friends, he's started swearing. I was taught at a young age to never swear or listen to them. Should I talk to him and tell him how I feel? Or will he think that I am a prude? Should I continue hanging with him?

Tell him not to swear. Tell him he has great potential and you hate to see him degrade himself. The bottom line is the classiest people don't have to swear to articulate coolness. Swearing is the low class and less articulate way out. I'm sure he loves you and I bet one of the big reasons is that he appreciates a well bred girl. I'm willing to bet he has had the best conversations of his life with you. He would be devastated without you. He'll compromise, trust me.

This guy is a show off. Putting his best foot forward trying to impress you. Talking smack when he is trying to lkook tough in front of others.

This does NOT mean he is a bad person. Or acting unethically. These are just shallow traits.

In my opinion this means the personality you are seeing now may not be the same a few months (or even weeks) down the road.

To put it another way: "He's fronting."

Okay, my boyfriends the same way, telling me sweet things, and doing nice things for me, but he swears, and does crude things, around his friends. Well if he's the gentleman around your parents, they'll never find out, and never put him on speaker during a phone conversation, in case something might slip. and do ask him, to keep the cussing to a minimum. He might not mind, and plus, if he loves you deeply, like mine does, he'll do anything for you.

Have a talk with him about his swearing. Tell him that you do not want to hang out with people who swear. If that means he goes away, then so be it, but I will bet that he will choose to not swear in front of you.
Don't dump him for swearing unless he refuses or is unable to limit his language in your presence.

Most guys cuss. So do most women like doctors and lawyers. Religious people don't cuss.

Just cause he cusses doesn't mean you have to. If you like him then that is part of who he is. If cuss words offend you that much then.. move on.... don't try to change people. It doesn't work.

Hope that helps. I have been married 21 years. Good luck

If your really into this guy, then why stop liking him!!?? You should definitely talk to him, though. Just tell him how you feel and if he cares about you as much as you care for him, then he will change! If he doesn't, then your just too good for him!!<3

If you really like this guy then I think that you should be the one who teaches him about what he's doing. There are people who does that even if they know it's wrong and it doesn't mean they are bad, they can change for better or for worse.
