It isn't the scrubbing that kills the germs, it's the soap you use. A brillo pad wouldn't do much other than take off both living and dead skin. You would end up with small wounds all over your body and that probably wouldn't go over well. You'd feel really raw.

If you are really that worried about germs, keep your eye out for soaps that are bacteria killing. I agree with the loofah idea. The point of scrubbing is to get rid of A) Dirt and B) Dead skin.

I am a HUGE fan of Wet Ones. They are little wipes that do a great job at killing germs. You can use them without a shower if you're feeling a little germy. Think Monk. They're like his wipes.

Keep an eye out on soap labels and take awhile to research them if they mean that much to you. But for goodness' sake, don't brillo pad yourself! It wouldn't end well.

a germaphobe huh?? not too worry..its not really safe on ur skin to use a brillo pad on it..but u shouldn't be scared of germs..ur body kills alot of them as it is..those who run from something will most likely get it 10 fold..

oooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwcccchhhh!!! Why not go get a nice, scratchy loofah instead. Good luck!

By the way, exfoliating is not what will kill germs on your skin. Soap is what kills germs - exfoliating just gets rid of dead skin cells and keeps your skin smooth :-)

it's nice to be cleanliness minded. but using a brillo pad?........you risk scraping your skin raw. bleeding. and losing a couple layers of skin.....not to mention the caustic chemicals contained in a brillo pad. if you really want something with a little roughness. i would suggest lava soap. it contains pumice. and fine particles of lava.......it provides the roughness you seek. plus it is safe for the skin........hope this helps......

hell no, you can't use a brillo pad. why would you? that would tear your skin up. if you hate germs, use anti-bacterial, wacko.
