Use at least 3/4 mdf (medium density fiber) board. You can use particle board but it's not as rigid (durable). If using particle board, seal both sides of the sheet with polyurethane or similar sealer.

I have built a box out of everything possible. here are my fav. top 3. the ultimate sound came from 3/4" plexi-glass, kinda pricey though. next best would be fiberglass. next would be 3/4" MDF(micro-density fiberboard). good luck. if you go with plexi, take your time and do it right and use clear window and door silicone before you screw the glass together for best seal.

Use at least 3/4" MDF and "paint" the inside with fiberglass resin(this will keep the enclosure air-tight)

I have always used 3/4 plywood or partical board screwed with standard woodscrews and selaed up on the inside with liquid nails for a vibration free box.
