It's like any other hospital except they specialize in mental illness which is just as bad as any physical illness, right?

Mental illness is a medical illness but you should not refer to a mental hospital as a 'nut' house. This is insulting to those with a mental illness and their families. If you had ever spent time working in a mental hospital as physicians do you would not ask such a question. These people require tender and compassionate care and a supportive atmosphere to get well. Society already stigmatizes mental illness so please be kind and do not add to public misconceptions.

poor choice in words, they are mentally disabled or have a mental illness. call something what it really is a nut is something you eat or squirrels hide for the winter
