Your dental insurance company should have a list of what facilities are considered in network and out of network . Check their web page for the list. Otherwise, call them or look in your enrollment packet you should have received when you first enrolled with them.

"Out of network" means you're choosing a dentist that isn't in your plan - it's not your actual insurance that is "out of network".

Insurance plans vary as to whether they cover dentists that are out of network and what portion you'll pay. You're better off looking within your network.

Your dental insurance probably has a website where you can look up dentists that are in your plan. My dental insurance actually assigned a dentist to me (I can change it if I want). If your dental insurance card has the name of a dentist on it, he or she is definitely in your network.

Call the number on the card...or ask the dentist you want to see if they know.
