I have been on some cruises but never done the "resort" vacations. Any ideas? Are the Sandals resorts any good? What are the approximate costs leaving from Jacksonville for about a week to any of them?

Absolutely the Mayan Riviera, south of Cancun. People are amazing and the history is awesopme if you are into that. All inclusives have great food and drink.
I'm saying this and I live in Barbados - but before we moved here we vacationed in the Yukatan (Plya Del Carmen) and loved it!!

I cannot give you any prices because I do not live in the U.S. but...

Sandals are very very nice resorts. They are basically the top of the food chain for "island" vacations. They are quite expensive though.
Resort vacations are very fun and allow you to explore the local areas of wherever you go as well.

If your looking for Carribean vacationing, I personally recommend the Bahamas, Mayan Riviera Mexico, St. Lucia or Costa Rica.

If you find Sandals too expensive, look into Superclubs resorts or Iberostar, they are both VERY nice, luxurious and extremely fun resort companies and both have properties in many Carribean countries.

Check out any travel company website for price details or the Superclubs, Sandals or Iberostar websites for property pictures and details and prices.

St. Lucia is a good honeymoon spot. Check out "Trip Advisor" and review all the resorts. I would recomend "Crystals" St. Lucia, Ti Kaye Village, Stonefield Resort, Anse Chastinet or if you have "lots" of money go for "Jade Mountain" at Anse Chastinet. Good Luck.

Check apple vacations. They do vacation packages for the carribean. You can call them and speak to one of their agents for specific information and some advice. I used them for a trip to cancun, and their agents are all very helpful. Have fun.
