Previously-a couple of months ago, I purchased some items from ebay. And I would pay by using my bank account to transfer over to my PayPal, and it would pay the seller instanly. But now however, I've noticed that when I pay for something, It would take several days to clear the money from my bank account, to my paypal, then to the seller. What's the deal? And how can I speed up the process of just paying instantly and not having to wait for my payments to clear?

I used to work for PayPal so I'm pretty familiar with their processes. Did you used to have a credit card attached to the account? And was it removed? Essentially, in order for instant payment to go through you would have to have both a credit card and a checking account listed on the account before the payment will go through instantly. The reason you need both for a quicker payment is because if one fails, like your check bounces, they have a safe guard of another pay method to the seller.

Hope this helps.

I know what you are talking about. When I was like 15yo and started using eBay I used to use my bank account to pay for things on eBay and it did take a while for the funds to transfer. And if I sold anything it would go the the Paypal account and not my bank account so I would have to send it to the bank from the Paypal account. What I would recommend doing is what I ended up doing. Getting a debit card. I opened a checking account and with most of them nowadays you get a debit card as well, and you sign up your debit card on Paypal just like a credit card. Then on your payments will be instant.

That's just because its procedure for them to wait a few days. This is actually a security thing. You can put a credit card as a back up on your paypal account. This might speed up the process.

There is usually not a delay if you use a check card. If you just have your bank account in there though, it can take 3-4 days.

It is going through security clearances, be happy that both your bank and paypal are taking the time to make sure someone is not stealing your money.
