My boss is giving his wife a birthday/christmas party with many of his clients who are "well to do". Being invited and being his employee, I am not sure what is appropriate. I had planned to wear black pants of light material and a red blouse with a fringe trim around the bottom. It is a bit dressy but has no glittz to it. I am intersted in jewlery or accessories to dress the occasion or am I out in left field with my plans.

Actually, your plans sound fine. Keep it low key, simple, and elegant. You might go with simple black-patent pumps and a sparkly black bag, or silver or gold shoes and bag. For jewelry, keep it simple as well (rhinestone stilletos, or swarovski drop earrings should be good, and not expensive.)

Think of the most elegant women you know---simplicity with just a dab of sparkle is all you need!

My address it may well be so you might bypass dressy devoid of going all out. And in case you have something holiday themed or colored then that would desire to be first determination as nicely. bypass away the pink t-shirt that asserts 'Santa i can describe' for relatives exciting, yet once you have a effective Christmas sweater then pair it with black slacks and heels. Or in case you haven't any longer have been given holiday themed clothing then your little black gown with some pink and green jewelry, or a pair of festive heels, might paintings. unavoidably there will be one or 2 people who bypass all out and get great dressed up, and unavoidably there will be one or 2 people who bypass all out and positioned on some ridiculous elf outfit yet i might stay center of the line.

You need some glitz and sparkle - chandelier earrings, a flashy necklace, something in your hair, a fancy pin - depending on what the neckline is on your blouse, you could wear an airy, light glittery kind of scarf.
