Is it possible to just love and adore someone without having that animalistic lustful passion for them?

I only ask because I've had that passion before and it was never worth much in the way of a meaningful relationship.

Now I have the meaningful part but I'm not lustfully attracted. I am attracted but it's not that passionate "I want our bodies to be sewn together" type of attraction.

Please tell me if it's possible to have this and it be healthy and normal!!!!

Totally normal. I had the lustful passion with my ex, and he was a horrible boyfriend.

I met a new guy who I admired from afar for over a year and never felt anything lustful for him, just happiness when I was around him. Now he's my boyfriend and 90% of the time, I still just feel love and adoration for him, rarely lust. We're both very happy with each other. :)

There are several types of love: agape (totally giving unconditionally to others), fillial (parent-child), eros (erotic), etc... (lots of types). You can read them up on wikipedia but to make a long story short I am sure its possible to love without lust.
Speaking from a Christian context lust is always forbidden, even in marriage, the erotic relationship between man and woman is on a different level, above animalistic pleasure seeking but rather a self giving to the other. Its complex but here is a great masterpiece explaining this complex topic! Its from Benedict XVI about love and its explains all the complex stuff about love in such a simple manner. Here's it: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/encyclicals/documents/hf_ben-xvi_enc_20051225_deus-caritas-est_en.html Since u seem interested in this, you wont regret reading this, its loaded and was a real 'eye opener' to me!!!

I hear ya, I'm in the same position. It kinda sucks eh? it's not really something that you can create, right now I'm looking for someone to be with in the long term so I am okay with it, but if this was just a fling I'd be outta of it so quick. So, I don't know if it's normal, but I know how you feel.

Masturbation is one of those simulated sex. sexual sex grows out of carnal needs. Sexual lust (there are different varieties) is one of those those carnal needs. Masturbation without lust is quite a lot no longer a possibility, for my section. the following is a question for you; in case you masturbate at the same time as wondering about your spouse or husband, is that incorrect?

It is healthy and normal to have these feelings. The feelings you are obviously feeling are love, not lust. That is true passion.

Lust is usually used in a negative context. You can be lustful to ANYONE without love. But you can love someone without lust. I won't call it lust when you love the person, but passion.

yes its possible, and it does happen. It's up to you if you are satisfied with that type of life. If not, you cant make yourself attracted to someone, so you may need to find someone new.
