And he said, A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. (Luke 15:11-13)There is something here in the story of the prodigal son that helps the understanding of God's ways. Notice that when the son goes to his father and asks for his inheritance, the father does not refuse the request even though he surely knows this is not in the son's best interest. Although he could refuse and thereby prevent all the son's suffering, the father respects the son's choice. That's not what most religions, as well as secular philosophies, think you should do. If someone is about to do something disastrous, you should stop them. God's ways are not our ways. Just as the father in the story, God respects our choice even when it is wrong. It allows us what we call "free will" -- the right to choose God's ways or something else. Many people like to blame God for man's problems because of this. If God knows that what we are doing will bring about our own pain and misery, and, he has the power to stop us, then why does he allow this? It's typical human thinking -- blame someone else for what we did to ourselves and never admit responsibility. Many want to blame their misfortune on God.It isn't God's fault when man over-farms the soil, removes the nutrients from his food through processing, dumps toxins into the environment and then ends up getting various degenerative diseases. Arrogance combined with ignorance is a sure-fire recipe for disaster every single time.Yet, God respects our choice and does so for a good reason. Simply put, He wants an intimate relationship with His children and that would be impossible unless we have the right to choose. Like the father in the parable, He allows our choice, doesn't interfere, even knowing the pain we will cause ourselves. So is this fair and good? Most definitely.we can always turn around and choose Him.He is eagerly waiting for us to choose Him and His way rather than our own selfish, arrogant and ignorant ways. His integrity is such, however, that when man chooses evil and selfish behavior, He judges that evil and delivers righteous judgement. It is not His fault we chose evil, and if He fails to balance that evil it would corrupt His nature with our evil. That is something God will never do. He will always maintain the integrity of Himself and His word.

It's free will and god's non-intervention that makes the whole god thing break down. The agonising existence of man, not knowing whether a caring god exists or not, and free not to believe in him, gives the lie to a perfect god, and tells me that he is an invention of mankind. Some simplistic answers here cite the fact that god is playing games with us. I think this is a good point. Why create us in his own image, leave us free not to believe in his existence, and free to bring about evil and suffering, when he could just let us live in his presence for even - no life, no death, just divine existence - perfection? No. god is imperfect because we created him.

Maybe yours and the rest of the worlds perception of what God is,
and how it manifests itself in ths world, could be wrong?

Thats why alot of things don;t add up making you thik there is no such thing as a god.
Then again, you could be wrong cuz you don;t have the right perspective?

If that is true.
people who do not believe in religous believes are right,
because there is no entity that can be called god and all the
doomsday scenarios with them.
And are also wrong, cuz God does exist, they just cannot see
god for what it really is.

Then Christians arent right either cuz they murdered so many people in the past for different believes.
And are rght because they believe in god wich in fact does exist, Just not in the way they believe god does.

You don't pay attention much.......

God is a God who loves us like a parent. He sits back and lets us do what we want to do weather good or bad.

unfortunately man usually chooses to do bad and then people such as yourself say God isn't real because man chose to do some sort of violent thing. Doesn't make anysense.

God doesn't mind war. The Old Testament is full of wars instigated by God.

That is partially correct. If God wants wars to not occur, then they will simply be impossible. Wars do occur, however, so therefore this is exactly what God wants.

Since the Sacrifice of Christ God is not in the war business... in this mortal world... God dose not start them and he dose not take sides... mankind must take full responsability for all the wars and the concequences of them.

Im no expert but suppose god didnt want to make our rules. God belives in justice but war isnt good its bad. I suppose he didnt want men killing each other but there is more good that bad in the world. If we spread the word to stop it when bush leaves gouvernment maybe it will happen! But its upto us to make the difference not god!

You're assuming that if god was real, he would be benevolent.
None of the monotheistic religions has a benevolent god. He even describes himself as jealous and angry. He requires blood sacrifice/burnt offerings. He states that he will torture some people forever.
War sounds perfectly necessary to such a god.
