Someone is misinformed here. You say there are no extra feelings but are considering marrying him. He supposedly has no extra feelings but is proposing to you behind his girlfriends back. There's some denial going on here.
Still, you say no. You shouldn't be a consolation prize just because he and his girlfriend are not that great together. You shouldn't settle for him just because it's a big ring. Nor should you settle just because no one else has asked.
The question isn't if his girlfriend is as bad as you say then why should he stay with her. The question is, if his girlfriend is as bad as you say then why is he with her. He must get something out of the relationship.
If he really wants to marry you then demand he do it the right way. Dump the stripper. Court you for a while. Then propose.

The fact that the guy already has a girlfriend reflects what a jerk he is. By all rights, if he was any kind of a man, he would have never got involved with you unless he had already broke up with his girlfriedn. Of course she hates you. Obviously, if he is proposing to you, you are having some kind of an affair with him, knowing that he already has a girlfriend, which makes you just as bad as him. Also, what the hell does a BIG RING have to do with anything? It's not going to matter how big the ring is when your husband is out at the wee hours of the night cheating on you, and you are wondering why you made such a huge mistake. OOPS, I take it back. You are going to need a big ring to pawn off when you are divorced and trying to get your life back together. Listen: grow up, get away from the guy, and find someone who is single and willing to love and respect you. In the meantime, you need to realize that you shouldn't sleep around with guys that are already in a relationship. Not only is it wrong, it makes you look like a s l u t.

If he is willing to cheat with the stripper he may cheat with you. I would just stay friends. A huge ring isnt worth it. Wait 5 years, youll soul mate may come along next week.

I would not agree to marry anyone who is dating someone else. The guy is a jerk. If you were seriously considering the proposal then perhaps you do have "extra feelings" for him unlike you claim. If he has seriously asked you then he certainly has extra feelings. Maybe this is what the girlfriend is picking up on.
If he wants to leave her then he would. Sounds like he wants a little of everything.

If he has a girlfriend already, chances are he won't stay faithful to you either. I say get away from him ASAP. I'm sure you deserve better.

Move on. Why stay with a guy who considers you second best? You deserve someone better, I am certain.
